I will be a grandma for the first time soon, this video woke me up. I thought I was going GREEN. I use organic when I can and will pay attention in other areas after your video. Thank you.

I was very surprised at the end of the video when it ended with co-sleeping. This practice is well known as a safety hazard and SIDS prevention lists this as a major cause of SIDS. Co-sleeping is not safe. That end shot does not belong in a video promoting safety for children.

I didn’t think this was a video with co-sleeping. It’s just a family holding their baby in bed. If you’ve ever had a newborn you know that a lot of time is spent in bed cuddling, nursing, changing diapers, etc.

Thanks for your post, Jennifer. The video isn’t about co-sleeping; it’s about spending time with your baby. However, safe co-sleeping is one of the most wonderful things you can do. Mary, please read up on safe co-sleeping. There’s a great deal of research demonstrating the healthy benefits to children and parents. Check out Dr. Sears’ book, Nighttime Parenting.

Lovely video. Made me cry.

Even if this video *did* show a co-sleeping arrangement, it would still make its point. People, please, co-sleeping is the best thing you can do for your baby! Just do it safely - as you would for anything else like feeding, playing, etc.

do you go over air purifyers. They now have elecronic air purifyers which cause no damage to any living thing. These purifyers keep all in the family safe from all sorts of infections as they remove mold, all bacteria, flu/ viruses. It is said that we all spend 75% of our time in the home, making resistance to others with illness profound when outside. It stops any allergies also and keeps a healthy duct system in ones home.

This video has really opened my eyes regarding the safety or our child’s health and what all we can do in order to safeguard and nurture our child in the best way possible. Many parents are unaware of how all can a disease get transmitted and this video has clearly shown what all can be done to avoid such detrimental situations! Anyway, regarding what Mary has said of the chances of getting SIDS, I disagree because the video is about maintain health and hygiene among all family members so that notion is absurd!

Thank you!! ~Beautiful pace and information to bring awareness to the power we have in the choices we make today.
~Attachment parenting, babywearing and co-sleeping are all part of a paradigm based on connection, integrative well being and True health, where all life thrives.
Aloha, Claire

Yes, Mary, Co-sleeping doesn’t cause SIDS infact it prevents it. Read up on Dr. James McKenna natural child project. He did the mother/baby sleep labs at Notre Dame and has demonstrated that what you say is false.

Your mission to make parents aware of toxins in the home, is wonderful. At Green Planet Building we try to do the same starting with the construction/remodeling process. Health, Energy and the Environment is our top priority. The biggest misconception in the marketplace is that environmentally sustainable products and services are inherently more expensive. They are not. Following sustainability principles can improve products’ value, reduce manufacturing and shipping costs and, in an increasing number of markets, comply with “green” mandates.
The short definition created in 1983 by a UN commission is: “Meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” It is the triple bottom line of people, planet and prosperity.
Thank you for bringing awareness to such an important cause.

I recently joined with a health and wellness company and going green made a big difference for my childs allergies. Thank you Cate Bybee for pointing out the misconception that enviromentally sustainable products are mor expensive, sooo true, they are not. I am saving money and my families health.
